We didn't start as a driver. We started trackside.
The Trackside StoryEvery founder story has a version that sounds good in a pitch. This is the version that's actually true — and it's the reason we work the way we do.
2004, and a website that started something
Where it started
My early career was a search for something that actually fit. Traditional office roles never quite did, even the ones that looked good on paper. In 2004, a friend introduced me to web design. Building that first website was different from anything I'd done before, there was a real learning curve, and I was hooked. Trackside Digital started there.
Starting over, on purpose
Where it changed
In 2011, everything shifted. My wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and we moved to the Netherlands to be closer to family while I balanced her care with running the business. After she passed away in 2014, I took a step back and asked myself what actually mattered enough to rebuild around.
The answer wasn’t more clients. It was fewer, deeper relationships, actually understanding the businesses I work with, not managing a list of accounts. That’s the version of Trackside Digital that exists today.
"I don't believe it's possible to give 100% if I'm also working for someone in the same industry. So I don't."
That's not a marketing line. It's the actual rule the business is built on, the one that means we only ever take one client per industry, no exceptions/
Not a one-person crew anymore
Where it grew
Over time, the business grew into something bigger than one person. Today, my partner Monika brings her own background in agile strategy and coaching, leading the discovery work that starts every new relationship. You can read more about the two of us on our Crew page.
Three things that don't change
What we actually believeCollaborative partnership
We don't disappear after launch. We stay in it, month after month.
Focus on the why
Every build starts with what you're actually trying to achieve, not a template.
Mutual Respect
We respect your expertise in your business, and ask you to trust ours in building it.
